This project aims to explore the roles of women and how we empower perception in society. Showing that there is no need to hide away from judgement or criticism based off of societies genderised standards. Sculpting an alteration of “Men look at women, women watch themselves being looked at” to celebrate the female body with confidence. To show their is no need for women to cover themselves in modesty but to look at oneself and see perfect human imperfection. Posing ceramics to show a feminist perspective; making a choice to expose and express nonconformity to societal taboo. Reinterpreting the standard of what it is to be a woman; or rather showing that there are no rules or requirements needed to validate womanhood. Using shape and colour obscure the female form into abstraction in order to symbolise the existence of a natural, vibrant form and not one of societal expectation.
